IVF progress

by on Jul.21, 2010, under IVf

We have been making friends via twitter, thanks everyone for your help :) it’s good to know other people are in the same boat going through IVF.

We have been trying to get our minds off it today, working, walking our dog and gardening. Nothing exciting but it distracts you from the IVF for a bit :)

Liz might just get to go the IVF clinic before our holidays for her blood tests if her period comes in time. I am sure it won’t as that is our luck but we can hope :)

We might not post for a while now until we have had the follow up appointments and group meeting at the IVF clinic. We might though so keep an eye out :)

Hi, just wanted to wish you the very best of luck!
We are just about to embark on our 6th round of ivf. The drugs are in the fridge I feel like poop, it’s all going quite well ;)
Me in a nutshell ..I’m 31 got told and have been trying since 17. Been through four ivf cycles, icsi once and on my last 3 ivf cycles I have donated half my eggs. I have a glorious little girl who will be 7 in august, completely natural after first having 1ivf then 1icsi and being told my eggs where substandard?? Which it turns out they are good?! I got pregnant once more in December via ivf, but I lost my twins in january this year :( :( this process isn’t fun.. in fact it’s quite strange.. And the amount of people that is needed to conceive is amazing!!! We find the ability to laugh through it is priceless!!!
    Your in our thoughts xx

Hello! Thank you so much for sharing that with us. It sounds like you have been through so much over the last 14 years. I sorry to hear about your loss in January that must have been very hard. We are total novices with all the IVF but learning as we go along. We decided we were going to try it about 2 years ago and read up quite a bit. But our main focus was on the cost and saving for that. Now we are here we need to learn all the important stuff, like the drugs used and how the whole process goes along. We have had the 1 appointment that was fairly brief but have a questions and answers group session soon. That should help :) Our youngest son is 8 years old similar to your girl :) we are so so glad we had kids young or god knows how we would be coping now. We are blessed to have children and the last 8 years has made us realise that more than most :) but we are desperate for more and hopefully IVF will help. Liz had been told she had all blocked tubes and a virtual zero chance of success naturally but the IVF consultant said this is not true and one tube is open according to her records. She has been through the mill that’s for sure. Thanks for sharing, Max :)

Yeah, we’re getting old hands at this now. Loosing the twins was monumentaly soul destroying!!!! as I know you’ll understand ;) It took 7yrs to get my little girl and almost 7yrs on the dot to the twins, the due date for them was bang on my little girls birthday too :( an amazing thing that wasn’t to be. It’s fantastic to here liz has a clear tube :) bless she’s still very much in the mill too, my heart go’s out to her!! my first lap aged 16 found a unicornuate uterus, pelvic infection endometriosis, contusions and mild Polycystic ovaries… my insides look nothing like the biology books :S We used to joke that if I was a horse I would have been shot ;) only got one tube and my last lap (nov 08) showed it’s blocked now :( but the infection, endometriosis and polycyclicness has completely gone?!? :D I totaly understand the consuming need for children and !!never!! thought that being blessed with one would make the want even stronger!??! :I
